Welcome to building an One HealthTech Community đź‘‹

If you are reading this, you are probably a new Fellow, or you have joined as a volunteer to help a Fellow lead an OHT Community. We are genuinely glad you are here. Communities do not appear by accident. They are built by people who care, who keep showing up, and who make it easier for others to belong.

This guide is a warm, practical overview of what an OHT Community is, how to run one, and how to keep it inclusive, sustainable, and fun.

What is an OHT Community?

OHT supports community builders (Fellows) to grow communities around topics, places and identities.

Each community defines its own purpose and how it creates impact. That might mean bringing people together in a space where they’ve felt underrepresented, or opening up new conversations in a niche that’s been overlooked. Sometimes it’s about building networks. Sometimes it’s about shifting narratives. Every approach matters.

We support Community Building Fellows - leaders growing inclusive, purpose-led communities across:

They are the ones making health innovation feel more local, more relevant, and a lot more human.

What it means to lead an OHT Community

Leading an OHT Community is less about being “in charge” and more about being a steward. You are creating a space that feels open, kind, and worth returning to. You are helping people connect, learn, and sometimes build something together.

You have a lot of freedom in what you do. If it aligns with building an inclusive health innovation community, then it belongs here. Your activities can be practical, playful, serious, creative, or a mix.
