We would like Hubs, Campaigns and Squads to get intimate with their data. However, we have had numerous issues in the past where volunteers have gone into the database and edited/deleted contacts, or broken GDPR by accident.
After lots of consultation and chatting with Hubs and volunteers, we will be fundamentally changing the way our CRM is structured to give much more control to Hubs about what data is collected and for what purposes.
Each Hub/Campaign will manage their own mailing lists on their own web page which they can configure and design as they wish, including collect whatever data they feel they need for their Hub/Campaign. This is different to if someone has merely attended a Hub event. Joining a Hub/Campaign is a proactive action. Attending an event is not. If you would like people to have the option to be subscribed to your Hub at the point of signing up to an event, please attach a selection box. It is then up to you to ensure this is reflected in the database.
Keeping a CRM up-to-date and clean should be a lot of work. It will be up to YOU to stay on top of data about your Hub community.
More information and precise "How-to's" will be published at this point.
